I first saw this film in 1971. I as of late got a Dvd of it and was pleased to discover it as I recalled that it. Delicate, astute, entertaining, warm, and - did I recollect to say interesting? Much the same as Mel Brooks "The Twelve Chairs", yet less unruly. Yul Brynner and Eli Wallach clearly delight in themselve as they vie for Lanie Kazan's affections and David Opatashu (as was his custom) underplays and takes the film. Furthermore it has an incredible consummation also.
