The Nando's story begun hundreds of years prior, when the Portuguese pilgrims set sail for the East looking for experience and the unbelievable zest course. The winds of Africa called them aground and it was there, under the warm sun, in the rich soil that they found the African Bird's Eye Chili or Peri-Peri. A zest like no other, they utilized it to make an interesting sauce that place fire in their stomaches and touched off enthusiasm in their souls. Portuguese adventurers course around Africaa few after hundred years (in 1987 to be correct), it was the same Peri-Peri sauce that propelled Fernando Duarte to welcome his companion Robbie Brozin to a humble Portuguese eatery in the heart of Rosettenville, South Africa to attempt some mouth-watering Peri-Peri marinated and treated chicken. The legend of the Barcelos Cockerel 

This story goes again to the fourteenth century, and, in the same way as all legends, the subtle elements vary relying upon who's doing the telling. Here's our adaptation. 

A pioneer was passing through the town of Barcelos in Portugal when he was wrongly blamed for robbery. This was a genuine allegation for which a blameworthy verdict implied guaranteed passing. 

The pioneer was brought under the watchful eye of the town's judge, who was going to consume a dish cockerel for supper. Feeling powerless in a bizarre town and realizing what his sorry destiny may be, the pioneer argued: "In the event that I am blameless, might that cockerel get up and crow!" 

No sooner had he talked, than the cockerel got up and crowed healthily (well it is a legend!). 

With that, the pioneer was acquitted and permitted to go on his way. 

Following the time when, the Barcelos Cockerel has been an image of confidence, equity and favorable luck.
