Dear ASUS,

Posted by DB Product Review on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, In : Computers / Internet

My computer is a little old... Bottom line: make sure you Boost My PC and please help keep my PC safer and up to date.  All you have to do is turn it on, and you'll get the oldest security and other important updates needed would not continue installation.  If only my PC can talk, it would say to me, “sorry, your computer is a hundred (100) years old!”

Upgrading my PC's memory, processor and hard drive must be carried out immediately because I cannot even use my new scanner! They say the a...

Aion Plas Chamois Philippines

I prescribe this specific make and model over others essentially focused around the vast size and the thickness of the towel.

In general, we're excited with the quality, size, and how well this thing functions. Completely 5 stars.

Here are just some of it’s Pros:

- does not create streaks when drying autos - Spot free!

- I slice it to half and quarter sizes - makes it incredible for the kitchen tops, sink and lavatory

- lives up to expectations incredible for kitchen spills

- accessib...

Let's switch to Solar - Humanity is running out of time‎

Posted by Don Balboa on Friday, July 11, 2014, In : Green Products

We need to switch to solar power and start helping with solar energy, especially on how to help the poor with sun power.  I want to reach out to Antipolo National High School students to go solar and pray for me to win this contest in order for them to possibly be blessed with a useful gift by being granted with a BARON SOLAR KIT for their school, which means a big help on their electricity bill, especially with the reported rising cost on electricity this July.

Why consume energy when you can...

airbnb Lets You Where You Wanna Be!

Posted by Don Balboa on Saturday, June 28, 2014, In : Travel

Happy Saturday everybody, welcome to my blog!   Today, I hope to receive such positive feedback, for I am going to give you my travel bucket list - I kind of have two.  No. 1, are things I want to do when I’m traveling and no. 2:  The places I want to go.  So we’re going to go with no. 1 first.

As the whole idea of bucket lists is kind of new to me until just now (little left out a bit), when I read the article (thanks Nuffnang and Airbnb guys, you keep me in the loop and everything).  It ...

What people DO NOT understand about being a call center agent

Posted by Don Balboa on Friday, June 27, 2014, In : Employment

For those who think that this type of job is boring, you’ll be surprised that it is actually quite fun.  It’s more than simply answering the phone like an answering machine.  In fact, work is fun because it allows one to meet different types of people, by each and every call one takes.  Just like the various customer personalities, the types of calls are likewise as varied as the callers themselves.  There are good calls, or you get to deal with easy-to-please clients.  Then, there are cu...

What is the Call Center Diet?

Posted by Don Balboa on Thursday, June 26, 2014, In : Employment

To be focused, vigilant and attentive at work, it is necessary that call center agents take care of their diet, and not take any risks when it comes to stress.  Less regular mealtimes and high consumption of caffeinated drinks and fast food characterize the diet of workers which have no discipline.  In order to get the call center agents back in better shape, the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) wants call center workers to become active in fitness and in diet as a form of...

Riding the MRT at rush hour. Worth it?

Posted by Don Balboa on Thursday, June 26, 2014, In : Employment

It sure is worth riding the MRT on a rush hour, if you can survive it.  I mean, would you pay a lot for a cab?  Plus the fact you would also wait very long in a taxi bay just to get one?   You can just devote the same energy to line up at the MRT instead.  If you are thinking of taking the bus this time, you should also have to accept that by taking such, you have to add an additional hour or so to your travel time in going home.

Don’t get me wrong though, because riding the MRT on a rush ho...

Call centers and their impact on the economy.

Posted by Don Balboa on Thursday, June 26, 2014, In : Employment

“Hi, thank you for calling Sykes, this is Don, how can I help you today?”

Three little letters have made a big difference in the Philippines – B.P.O., or Business Process Outsourcing.  In little over a decade it’s grown to become the Philippines’ second largest source of foreign exchange, earning more than $15 million in revenue, and creating jobs for nearly 1 million people.  The sector grew 17% last year, a trend many expect will continue.

When you look at the Philippines, one int...

Living in the metro. Worth the extra expense?

Posted by Don Balboa on Thursday, June 26, 2014, In : Employment
The extra expense is worth it – quality surgery, the bridges connecting to hotels along with big campuses, are life-savers for us.  Not to mention great access to the MRT, area restaurants and highways.

Assisted living costs can also be made manageable for seniors in need of extra funding in order for them to stay in the best place to retire – Metro Manila.  Yes, the expensive cost of living and high taxes make some places unattractive retirement spots but in Makati City, people age 60 c...

HMO Benefits. Their importance to the employee.

Posted by Don Balboa on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, In : Employment

photo:  tohlejokes.com

During employees’ open-enrollment period, their employer may offer them a choice between an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), or a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization).  If an employee chooses HMO, he or she can choose or will be assigned a primary care physician.  That primary care physician will act as the “quarterback” for most of his or hers health needs.  If depending on one’s symptoms, one’s primary care physician determines that he or she should se...

Taking the bus to work and its risks.

Posted by Don Balboa on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, In : Employment

I ride public transit in Metro Manila and sometimes, it’s not pretty good.  I saw a month and a half ago, a guy get sucker punched on the bus on EDSA and I don’t fault the driver for being afraid of the criminal who hit the guy in the face, who was bothering other people on the bus, and who ran out of the bus when he asked for the police and an ambulance.  Turned out his nose was broken.  Probably just a fraternity thing or something and just an isolated case.

Way back, I rode on another b...

Are landlines becoming more obsolete?

Posted by Dex Banner on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, In : Employment

The number of households that rely exclusively on cellphones, has been growing steadily worldwide - a tremendous amount of increase in just years!  We are seeing a big trend of people going more to the cellular device since they were with their land lines in the past.

With the continued advances in technology and social network, cellphone companies are noticing an increasing amount of peoples switching over to cellphones daily.  Everyone's looking for not just a phone,...

Keep Calm and Watch Movies

“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me, please? Just picture your life for me? 30 years from now, 40 years from now? What’s it look like? If it’s with him, go. Go! I lost you once, I think I can do it again. If I thought that’s what you really wanted. But don’t you take the easy way out.”
